TGNC Family Beach Day!
Join us for the second annual Out and About at the Lake: TGNC Family Beach Day!
This year’s event features a special sports-themed edition celebrating the strength, joy, and resilience of trans youth. As conversations about transgender participation in sports continue to unfold across the country, we're creating a space where trans and gender-diverse young people can play, connect, and thrive.
We'll kick off the day with a community pep rally at 1pm in response to the Supreme Court pending decision for HECOX & BPJ which will feature guest speakers, followed by outdoor activities led by LGBTQIA+ sports organizations from across Chicagoland.
Not into sports? No problem! We'll also be offering all of our favorite beach day activities, including art projects, lawn games, sand toys, and plenty of opportunities to relax, create, and connect.
This free celebration of trans joy is open to all ages and designed for the whole family. We hope you'll join us for a day of community, fun, and belonging at the lake.
Accessibility: This event will have a sensory tent for those who need it. The event is on grass and sand and has limited paved walk ways. All programming will include sign language interpretation
Location: This event will be held on Montrose Beach which features ample parking and easy access by public transit.
